About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role The Network Security team's remit is to secure Anthropic's networks across our cloud providers and our bare-metal AI data centers. We own egress and ingress controls, network segmentation, private connectivity between environments, and encryption in transit. We design, build, and maintain these controls, and we write the software that deploys, enforces, and monitors them. These controls protect our model weights, customer data, and internal assets. We are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead this team. Anthropic is adding data center sites and cloud regions quickly, and the team will grow with that work. In this role you will set the team's charter, practices, and priorities. You will partner with our infrastructure networking, cluster, and data center teams so security is built into network designs from the start. The goal is secure-by-default networking that lets research and product teams use compute in any environment without slowing them down. Key responsibilities We're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a Network Security Engineering team in executing across critical initiatives including, but not limited to: Own the network security roadmap: threat model from the management plane through Kubernetes and cloud interconnects, decide what to build, and deliver it Be able to reason about the design and implementation of default-deny ingress and egress, segmentation between research, training, and production, private connectivity, and mTLS/service identity across every environment Ship these as secure-by-default primitives so new clusters, VPCs, and data center links inherit the right boundaries without security on the critical path Join networking, cluster, and data center teams at design time so topology, routing, and firewall decisions carry our invariants from day one Build visibility into traffic and boundary drift, with detection for exfiltration paths and automated remediation where safe Own the network security evidence for our security goals and compliance: the invariants hold, and you can prove it Hire, grow, and retain senior security software engineers; own their career development, and set the practices the team runs on as it scales Minimum Requirements: 8+ years of front line management experience Low ego, high empathy; has built diverse teams and has former reports who would work for them again Experience managing infrastructure or security engineering teams, including hiring, developing, and managing senior and staff engineers Has grown engineers into staff or lead roles, and has made the call to move someone out when coaching didn't work Kept a team intact and delivering through reorgs, charter changes, or leadership turnover Experience owning a security or infrastructure domain end to end: setting multi-year strategy, delivering year-long cross-organizational work with little direction, and answering to executives for its risk and tradeoffs Scaled a team and its systems together through hypergrowth, where last quarter's architecture was already too small Hands-on network security engineering in cloud and/or on-prem environments: VPC design, interconnects, private service connectivity, cloud firewall policy, egress control, physical segmentation, and out-of-band/management-plane security Threat modeling and risk assessment for networked systems, with the judgment to tell which controls reduce risk and which just look good on a diagram Secured Kubernetes networking at scale, or worked in high-assurance environments where controls had to be evidenced, not just deployed Preferred Qualifications: Built or rebuilt a hiring loop and held the bar while adding headcount quickly Exposure to large-scale distributed training and what it demands of a network Solved end-to-end networking problems directly with internal users, cloud account teams, and hardware or colo vendors Has taken infrastructure from zero to one and then to maturity: built the first version where nothing existed, then run and hardened it into a system other teams depend on at production-network reliability Pragmatic and steady: cares about unblocking research and product as much as a clean architecture, and brings patience and judgment to opinionated senior engineers Clear and persuasive communicator in writing and in person Familiar with AI security and safety concepts The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $405,000 — $485,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. About the role Anthropic is looking for a Senior Partner Account Manager (PAM) to own our relationship with one to two of the world's largest global systems integrators. This is a general-management role disguised as an alliance role: you will set the multi-year joint strategy with the partner's C-suite, negotiate the strategic agreement that underpins it, and then build the machine — go-to-market, solution co-development, delivery readiness, and enablement at a scale of tens of thousands of practitioners — that turns Claude into one of the partner's largest and fastest-growing practices. You will be measured on the size and health of the joint business: progress against a $1B+ Claude practice plan, Anthropic ARR sourced and influenced through the partner, certified and delivery-ready practitioners (50,000+), co-developed solutions in market with reference-able customers, and the depth of executive alignment on both sides. Key responsibilities Own the joint business. Build and run a multi-year joint business plan with each GSI covering services bookings, Anthropic ARR, priority industries and geographies, investment, and headcount. Report on it to Anthropic and partner executive leadership quarterly. Lead at the C-suite. Be the primary Anthropic relationship owner for the partner's Group CEO, service-line and industry CEOs, CTO/Chief AI Officer, and Chief Learning Officer. Map and activate Anthropic executive sponsors, run CEO-level QBRs, and shape the partner's public AI narrative (earnings calls, analyst days, flagship events) around Claude. Negotiate the strategic agreement. Structure and close multi-year strategic collaboration agreements spanning consumption and resale commitments, co-investment and market development funds, co-marketing, IP and solution terms, and enterprise-wide internal deployment of Claude across the partner's own workforce. Co-develop solutions. Partner with Anthropic Product, Applied AI, and the GSI's CTO office to co-build industry and horizontal offerings, agentic and Claude Code delivery accelerators, and reference architectures; take them to market with named launch customers and published references. Build a 50,000+ practitioner practice. Design and land a certification and delivery-readiness system inside the partner — embedded in their academy/L&D, train-the-trainer led, tied to Claude Partner Network tier requirements — and hold the partner accountable to capability they build themselves rather than capacity Anthropic supplies. Drive global co-sell. Stand up joint account planning and pursuit governance with Anthropic field leadership across NA, EMEA, and APAC; personally engage on the largest strategic pursuits; ensure clean attribution through deal registration and CRM discipline. Run alliance governance. Establish and chair a joint steering committee with named workstreams (GTM, solutions, delivery readiness, enablement, marketing), clear owners on both sides, and a published operating cadence. Lead through others. Orchestrate a global virtual team of partner solutions architects, partner marketing, enablement, regional PAMs, and sales leaders; mentor PAMs across the team; scope and make the case for dedicated resourcing as the business scales. Shape the program. Bring the voice of the largest GSIs into Anthropic's partner strategy, Elite-tier program design, and product roadmap. Minimum qualifications 15+ years in alliances, partner sales, or consulting leadership, including 8+ years owning a top-tier GSI relationship (e.g., IBM, NTT Data, Capgemini) at a hyperscaler or category-defining enterprise software/AI company — or the mirror-image role leading a hyperscaler/AI alliance from inside a GSI. A track record of personally building or scaling a partner practice to $500M–$1B+ and tens of thousands of trained practitioners, with the joint business plan, governance, and metrics to show for it. Demonstrated C-suite presence: you have set agendas with GSI Group CEOs and service-line leaders, and you can hold a strategy conversation and a commercial negotiation in the same meeting. Experience negotiating and closing multi-year strategic collaboration agreements with nine-figure commitments. Fluency in GSI economics — utilization, pyramid, offering margin, industry P&Ls, delivery-center models — and how a new technology practice actually gets funded and staffed inside one. A strongly commercial orientation: you are a business driver first and a relationship manager second, and you are comfortable pushing a partner to invest in its own capability. Global operating experience across NA, EMEA, and APAC, including time with India-based delivery leadership. Low ego, high curiosity, and a habit of making the people around you better; you put the mission ahead of personal credit. Preferred qualifications Experience launching co-developed partner solutions with a product/engineering organization, including agentic or developer-tooling offerings. Prior ownership of a large-scale partner certification or academy program. Hands-on familiarity with Claude, Claude Code, LLM application architectures, and enterprise AI deployment and governance. Experience at a high-growth company where the program was being built while the plane was flying. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. About the role We are looking for research engineers to build the safety and oversight mechanisms that govern how our models handle biological knowledge. As a bio safety researcher, you will spend your time: designing and running capability evaluations against frontier models, generating and curating training data for our safety classifiers, training and iterating on those classifiers alongside our ML engineers, and measuring how they hold up against adversarial pressure in production traffic. This work sits at the intersection of applied ML and biosecurity. You will help define what responsible AI safety looks like in the biological domain, translating threat models into evals, datasets, and deployed systems. The core technical tension you will own is precision: safeguards need to be robust against sophisticated actors while staying out of the way of the far larger population of legitimate researchers using Claude to accelerate life sciences work. Getting that tradeoff right is an empirical problem, and you will be the person measuring it. You do not need to be an ML researcher today. We are looking for strong scientific programmers with real depth in modern biology who want to bring that depth to bear on model evaluation and classifier development. Key responsibilities Design, build, and run capability evaluations to assess what new models can do in the biological domain, and turn results into concrete deployment recommendations Develop training and evaluation datasets for our safety classifiers, working with internal and external threat modeling experts to ground them in realistic risk Train, tune, and iterate on safety classifiers with ML engineers, optimizing jointly for adversarial robustness and low false-positive rates Build the tooling and pipelines that make evaluation and classifier development fast and repeatable Analyze classifier and eval performance against production traffic, identify gaps, and prioritize improvements Design and run red-teaming and stress-testing of safeguards as threats, models, and product surfaces evolve Partner with Research, Product, and Policy teams to embed biological safety throughout the model development lifecycle Contribute to external communications including model cards, blog posts, and policy documents Track developments in biology, ML, and biosecurity for their potential to create new risks or enable new mitigations Minimum qualifications Strong proficiency in Python, and extensive background in scientific programming and data analysis skills Excellent grasp of ML fundamentals and an ability to rapidly adopt ML development practices Excellent knowledge of modern biology across both measurement and engineering: high-throughput assays and functional characterization, as well as gene synthesis, genome editing, strain construction, and protein engineering Ability to build and maintain your own tooling rather than relying on others to implement your ideas Experience designing quantitative experiments or evaluations and drawing defensible conclusions from noisy results Strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Familiarity with dual-use research concerns and biosecurity frameworks, such as select agent regulations, the Biological Weapons Convention, or Australia Group guidelines Comfort with ambiguity and with shifting priorities as AI capabilities change Can work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional teams Are results-oriented, with a bias towards flexibility and impact Thrive in a fast-paced research environment where you balance rigorous scientific standards with rapid iteration Preferred qualifications Experience working with large language models, including prompting, fine-tuning, or evaluation Experience training or deploying classifiers or other ML systems in production Experience developing ML methods for biological systems or biological data Familiarity with adversarial robustness, red-teaming, or safety evaluation of ML systems Have at least 8 years of hands-on experience in life sciences, with deep expertise in areas such as molecular biology, drug discovery, or computational biology Experience leading complex technical projects across multiple stakeholder groups The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research.
