About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role Claude is now good at security work. It finds and fixes vulnerabilities in real codebases, triages alerts, and reasons about how an attacker would move through a system, and it improves with every model we ship. Many security platforms build on Claude and we shipped our first security product this year (Claude Security). You'll lead the cybersecurity product at Anthropic. That means setting the strategy, deciding what we build and where we partner, shipping products, and being the company's voice with CISOs, security vendors, and researchers. Some of this is 0→1 (our first-party products are a few months old and the next ones don't exist yet) and some of it is scaling what already works. Security touches nearly every team at the company. Key responsibilities Set Anthropic's cybersecurity product portfolio strategy and be accountable for the results. Ship security products. Vulnerability discovery and remediation in Claude Code today and a broader set of capabilities in the future. Represent Anthropic on security externally, with CISOs, vendors, researchers, governments, and press. Partner with research. Know where the model falls short on security tasks and help build a plan to improve. Work with safeguards and policy on model access for Cybersecurity. Keep the cross-functional threads moving across research, engineering, sales, safeguards, policy, legal, and comms. Minimum qualifications You've spent meaningful time in security, whether building security products, running a security team, or doing the work yourself in application security, detection and response, vulnerability research, or offensive security. You've built products or businesses from scratch and taken them to paying customers. You design for where the models will be rather than where they are. You treat what the model can't do yet as a research target with a reliability bar, and you know what to ship in the meantime. You have strong product judgment and enough technical depth to read a finding and tell whether it's real. You're willing to do the unglamorous work. You communicate well with CISOs, researchers, and executives alike. Preferred qualifications 12+ years of experience building and shipping products, especially in the security space . Fluency with AI products: evaluations, model behavior as part of the product surface Technical background or experience working closely with infrastructure/platform teams Strong technical judgment with ability to go deep on security and infrastructure topics Structured thinking and ability to break down complex compliance requirements into shippable features The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $385,000 — $460,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. About the Role Anthropic's R&D teams depend on a large and fast-growing ecosystem of outside service providers. The biggest and most complex piece of it is Human Data Operations (HDO): vendors that supply the human-generated data, evaluations, and expert feedback our research depends on. Alongside HDO is a growing set of other R&D services, including labs, outsourced and outsourced service providers, and other specialized service partners that our research and special-initiative teams rely on. We are hiring a Strategic Sourcing Business Partner to own the commercial side of this portfolio. Today these vendors have business owners and Procurement Operations support, this role will drive real ownership of the commercial terms end to end including contracts redlines, deployment of contract templates, and the negotiation.. There is significant untapped value in this portfolio (in pricing, in contract terms, and in vendor performance), and this role exists to go get it. The job has four parts: run the contracts (redlining, templates, and renewals). This person will lead the commercial negotiations, partnering with the business to positively influence decision-making and deal structure, and manage vendor performance once the deal is signed. Success means moving fluidly between the deal and the relationship: negotiating strong terms, then executing against them through QBRs, SLA enforcement, and escalations as our needs change. We use Claude as part of our daily workflow and are looking for someone who wants to help define what an AI-native sourcing function looks like, including how AI changes deal-making and vendor management itself over the next few years. How this role fits within Procurement Procurement Ops Business Partners own the primary relationship with each business vertical and are the front door for intake and day-to-day requests. Strategic Sourcing partners closely with them and owns the commercial outcome: negotiation strategy, contract terms and redlines, contract compliance, ongoing vendor performance, and sustained value creation for the leaders of these verticals working closely day to day with Legal (legal positions, templates, terms), Finance & Strategy (budgets, forecasts, and strategy), and Security / TPRM (risk assessment, approvals, process). Responsibilities Contract management and templates Own the commercial redline for HDO and R&D services agreements (MSAs, SOWs, order forms, amendments, and renewals), partnering with Legal on legal terms, so deals move quickly while maintaining negotiation posture Build and maintain the template library for these categories (standard MSA and SOW templates, pricing exhibits, SLA schedules, and a fallback playbook) so that most deals start on our paper rather than the vendor's Run the renewal calendar for the portfolio so that no agreement auto-renews or lapses without a deliberate commercial decision Keep contract data (rates, volume commitments, SLAs, key dates) current in our contract and intake systems so obligations are visible and enforceable Negotiations and commercial strategy Lead pricing and commercial negotiations across the portfolio, from strategy and deal structure through terms, SLAs, and executive alignment; you will personally run the ones that matter most Build playbooks and Claude-powered tools for redlining, negotiation prep, benchmarking, and vendor reporting that raise the throughput and deal quality of the whole team Design pricing structures that fit how R&D actually consumes these services (per-unit, per-hour, capacity, tiered, and committed-volume models) and that align vendor incentives with quality and throughput Build and maintain a competitive bench for every mission-critical category via RFPs and competitive processes: qualified second sources, contracts structured so volume can move as needed, and flexible pricing constructs Track and report savings, cost avoidance, and improved terms for the portfolio Vendor management and value creation Own the vendor management cadence for mission-critical vendors: QBRs, scorecards, SLA and quality reporting, and remedies when performance slips Manage escalations between R&D teams and vendors and drive them to resolution Identify consolidation, rationalization, and renegotiation opportunities as volumes shift, and bring executive-ready recommendations to R&D and Finance leadership Manage TPRM, security, and compliance approvals, audit rights, and data-handling terms in partnership with Security and Legal Relationships & Partnership Partner with Procurement Ops BPs and leadership in R&D and special-initiative teams to understand upcoming needs and growth, and get vendor capacity and terms in place ahead of them Partner with Finance & Strategy on vendor budgets, forecasts, and multi-year cost models for the portfolio You may be a good fit if you have 7+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, vendor management, or commercial negotiation experience, primarily in services categories (data services, BPO or outsourced operations, lab or research services, managed services, staffing, or similar) Hands-on contract experience: you have personally redlined MSAs and SOWs, built templates and fallback positions, and know where the commercial value sits in a services contract (pricing exhibits, volume commitments, termination rights, SLAs and remedies, IP and data terms) and when to bring in Legal A track record of personally leading multi-million dollar services negotiations to strong outcomes, not just managing the process around them Judgment about where leverage lives and how hard to use it: you can look at a portfolio of many vendors and many concurrent deals and know which ones deserve a deep negotiation and which need a fast, standard path, and you have a reputation with past vendors and colleagues for being commercially tough and fair with partners that need to scale with us Strong analytical skills: rate and unit-cost analysis, TCO modeling, and pricing model design; you can find the real economics underneath a vendor proposal Services vendor management experience: SLAs, scorecards, QBRs, and escalations, and how to enforce them without damaging the relationship Comfort operating at pace: high deal volume, ambiguity, imperfect information, and a bias to execute rather than perfect Clear, direct communication with executives internally and across the table, including in difficult conversations and escalations Fluency with AI tools in your daily work and demonstrated experience in rebuilding your own workflows around them Strong candidates may have Experience sourcing human data, data labeling, annotation, or evaluation vendors, or comparable BPO and outsourced operations categories, and a point of view on where that market is heading Experience sourcing lab services, scientific equipment and consumables, robotics or hardware services, or other technical services for a research organization Experience at a hypergrowth company renegotiating or restructuring vendor pricing and contract structures under the growth curve Experience standing up sourcing coverage for a category from scratch (templates, playbooks, benchmarks), not just operating within an established program Experience designing vendor scorecards, SLA frameworks, and performance management programs Familiarity with the confidentiality, data-handling, and IP terms that matter for research and data vendors A point of view on how AI will change services vendor relationships and negotiations, backed by things you have actually tried The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $190,000 — $230,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. About the Role The Detection & Response (D&R) team plays a critical role in protecting our systems, users, and data from security threats. We’re looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to own and evolve incident management within D&R. This is a senior-level specialization on the Technical Program Manager ladder, focused on how we detect, respond to, and learn from security and operational incidents. You’ll be the driving force behind maturing and scaling our incident response lifecycle—from detection and triage through containment, remediation, and post-incident review. Critically, some of the highest-impact work in this role happens after the immediate response: gathering data on incident trends, reporting on patterns and root causes, and working cross-functionally across engineering, security, infrastructure, and product teams to ensure that broad fixes and systemic improvements are actually implemented. You won’t just manage incidents—you’ll make sure we get meaningfully better after each one. Responsibilities Own the end-to-end D&R incident management program: detection workflows, response processes, escalation paths, communication standards, and remediation tracking. Serve as incident commander for security incidents, driving clear coordination across executive, engineering, security, legal, and other appropriate stakeholders. Establish and run incident commander rotations within D&R, ensuring clear ownership and effective coordination during incidents of varying severity. Drive post-incident accountability by defining how action items are captured, assigned, tracked, and completed across teams—ensuring follow-through on both tactical fixes and strategic improvements. Gather, analyze, and report on incident trends and patterns to surface systemic risks, recurring root causes, and areas where the organization is most vulnerable. Translate trend analysis into actionable cross-functional initiatives: partner with engineering, infrastructure, security, and product teams to prioritize and implement broad fixes and preventive improvements that address root causes rather than symptoms. Lead incident review forums (post-mortems, retrospectives) and ensure learnings are captured, socialized, and acted upon across the organization. Develop and maintain D&R incident response documentation, playbooks, runbooks, and training materials; keep them current as the threat landscape and our systems evolve. Partner with detection engineering to improve alert fidelity, reduce noise, and shorten time-to-detection for security events. Define, develop, and track incident management KPIs and report regularly to D&R and Security leadership. Support broad cross-functional training and initiatives to uplevel security awareness across the company (e.g. Tabletop exercises, training, talks). You may be a good fit if you: Have 7+ years of experience in technical program management, incident management, or security operations, with significant time spent in a detection & response or security incident response context. Have led or built incident response programs at a technology company, ideally in a high-growth or security-intensive environment. Have a demonstrated track record of turning incident data into organizational improvements—not just writing post-mortems, but driving the cross-functional work to implement systemic fixes. Are comfortable participating in on-call responsibilities and leading incident response during high-severity security events, including off-hours. Have experience building and scaling operational processes from the ground up in environments where structure didn’t previously exist. Excel at driving accountability and follow-through across multiple teams without direct authority—you know how to influence, track, and close the loop. Have strong analytical skills and experience with incident trend analysis, metrics reporting, and data-driven prioritization. Are highly organized with a knack for bringing structure to ambiguous, fast-moving situations. Have excellent communication skills, especially under pressure and when coordinating across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership. Thrive in fast-paced environments where priorities shift and you’re often working with incomplete information. Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. About the role Corporate Security protects the environment Anthropic's people work in every day: their laptops and phones, their identities, the tools they collaborate in and the company data that flows through all of it. Everything that makes Claude what it is sits behind that environment. We keep company access on devices we manage, make those devices hard to compromise and right-size what any one of them can reach, while caring a great deal about the day-to-day experience of the people using them. The company is growing quickly and this team is growing with it, so we treat the work as an engineering discipline: controls as code and automation over queues, built to scale with headcount rather than strain against it. As a Security Engineer here you'll drive significant parts of that work end to end. You'll set technical direction and turn it into shipped tooling. When a control collides with someone's workflow, you'll find the path that keeps them moving without giving up the protection. You'll be handed problems rather than task lists and you'll find as many yourself: threat-modeling the environment to surface what matters, fixing it and bringing the evidence that shapes what the team prioritizes next. This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role. Key responsibilities Drive endpoint hardening across macOS, Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS, including device management configuration, application allowlisting, patching, and browser policy, favoring controls that are versioned, reviewable, and repeatable over one-off configuration Extend device-trust and zero-trust access controls so company systems are reached from managed devices bound to the right person and carrying the right level of access, treating the experience of fellow employees as a design constraint rather than an afterthought Build the automation and integrations that let the team scale with the company: joiner/mover/leaver automation across identity and device management, exception and expiry workflows, posture-driven policy, and Claude-assisted triage of review queues Lead SaaS and identity governance, including third-party OAuth grants, delegated admin access, chat-platform apps, browser extensions, and software security reviews, turning recurring decisions into policy and tooling Partner across the wider Security team, IT, and Engineering on telemetry, detections, and shared standards, and help define how a company that increasingly runs on AI agents does so securely and at scale Minimum qualifications Hands-on endpoint security engineering on macOS, Windows, Linux, or ChromeOS, such as MDM and declarative device management profile engineering, application allowlisting or binary authorization, system extensions and endpoint security frameworks, or their platform equivalents Proficiency in Python and scripting languages generally; you architect and build integrations, automation, and internal tooling as a normal part of the job, and can write a detection when the work calls for it Working depth in identity and access management, SaaS security, and zero-trust access Threat-modeling judgment that finds the problems worth solving and the ability to scope them, define "done," and drive them to completion Care for Anthropic's mission and the part corporate security plays in it Preferred qualifications Experience defining the scope and choosing the tooling for a security program rather than inheriting it Experience shipping an enforcement change to a large user population: using data to find what will break before it does, staging the rollout, building the alternative path for affected workflows, and moving people onto it ahead of enforcement Endpoint depth across more than one of macOS, Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS, with the judgment to harden for the threats that matter rather than to a checklist Mobile security across managed and BYOD contexts, including protecting people and devices in higher-risk settings such as international travel Experience bringing security governance to a modern SaaS environment, including third-party integrations, delegated access, and the long tail of internally built and AI-generated apps, in a way that speeds decisions up rather than slowing them down Configuration-as-code, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD applied to corporate infrastructure LLM-assisted security tooling you built that materially changed what a team could cover, and the judgment to know which work to hand to a model, which to keep, and how to combine the two A track record of getting security controls adopted across an organization through influence and partnership rather than authority Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $320,000 — $405,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. About the role Governments do some of the most consequential work there is: deciding benefits claims, getting veterans to care, investigating financial misconduct, running unemployment insurance, and producing the analysis that world leaders act on. Anthropic's public sector team exists to put Claude in the production path of that work. In the US and some allied governments, Claude is already in daily use across major agencies and US states. The next steps need a particular kind of product manager: someone who can walk into an institution they have never worked with, sit with the people doing the work and find, alongside them, the workflow that matters. The best government products we know of started as an idea that came out of the room rather than a requirements document. The scope is large: a product portfolio here is a set of governments rather than a feature area. A year in, success looks like agencies delivering services more effectively because public servants are doing core parts of their job with Claude in the loop, and at least one thing that you learn from them shipping to every Anthropic enterprise. That is a lot of surface; you will have to choose where to go deep, and we will back the choice. We are hiring across civilian, state and local, govtech, and national security portfolios and will match you to one on background and interest. Some portfolios require eligibility for a US security clearance, though most do not. You would be among the first product managers on the team, working with a dedicated engineering and research team and with the policy, go-to-market, customer success, and applied AI leads who already spend their days inside these agencies. In this role, you will: Alongside GTM, run discovery inside government institutions to find where Claude belongs in the production path of their work, then shape the product around what you find Own product decisions for our government models and product offerings and the agency workflows built on top of them Spot the government needs worth generalizing and carry them into Anthropic's broader roadmap. Many of Anthropic’s commercial features started as public-sector customer problems Help Anthropic navigate government compliance regimes Partner with our cloud and integration partners You may be a good fit if you: Have shipped successful products end-to-end. We weigh product judgment above any domain credential Can point to something you built that was your idea: it came from watching people work rather than from a requirements document Get things done through teams that don't report to you. In addition to the dedicated team, this role runs through a variety of partner teams inside Anthropic and many offices inside each agency. Move on your own clock. You have shipped in an organization with a fast cadence, or you set the pace in an environment that didn't Have built domain intuition fast in large enterprises that do not resemble each other Are a US person. We have agreements with the US Government that mandate this for these roles. Strong candidates may also have: Roughly 7+ years building and shipping products, or equivalent scope Real intuition for how government operates, earned either from the inside or at a digital services organization or by building products public servants actually use Taken a public-sector or field requirement into a commercial product that succeeded Fluency with AI products: evaluations, model behavior as part of the product surface Shipped inside a FedRAMP, classified, or comparable compliance boundary Negotiated with or steered large partners such as cloud providers or systems integrators An active TS/SCI security clearance with the US government (relevant for only some roles) Ability to travel up to 25% of the time The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $305,000 — $385,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. About the role Anthropic is building AI systems that will shape the trajectory of one of the most consequential technologies in human history. That work requires physical infrastructure at significant scale, and building that infrastructure the right way means being a real, long-term partner to the communities where we operate. We are looking for a Community Engagement Manager in Texas to join our Public Policy team and serve as Anthropic's on-the-ground presence in the communities where our data centers are sited, built, and operated. This is not a communications role or a government affairs role, though you will do elements of both. It is a relationship role: your job is to make Anthropic a trusted, visible, and valued neighbor, from the earliest stages of site selection through construction and long-term operations. You will be the connective tissue between Anthropic's Policy and Infrastructure teams and the local officials, community organizations, economic development partners, and residents who have a stake in what we build. You will surface concerns before they escalate, translate our technical and operational plans into clear local benefits, and build the coalitions that allow us to move quickly and responsibly. Because Anthropic's infrastructure footprint is still early in its growth, you will also help write the playbook: the processes you build in your first markets are the ones we will use as we expand. You will travel regularly within your region, up to 50% of the time, and occasionally to other Anthropic data center markets. Key responsibilities Build and maintain trusted, sustained relationships with local elected officials, government agencies, economic development organizations, community groups, civic leaders, educational institutions, and workforce partners in the data center markets you cover Develop and execute a community engagement strategy for each of your markets, spanning site selection, pre-development, construction, and ongoing operations Build external coalitions, host education and listening sessions, and design local solutions that deliver real benefits to the communities where we operate Represent Anthropic in public forums, town halls, planning hearings, community events, and local media Monitor community sentiment and local political dynamics, and advise internal teams on risks, opportunities, and the right pace and posture for engagement Partner with the Real Estate and Infrastructure team to bring community input into how projects are planned, communicated, and delivered, not just how they are announced Work with the Communications team to develop proactive, locally relevant messaging Coordinate charitable giving, community investment, and economic development commitments in your markets, including managing nonprofit partner relationships Partner with the Energy and Sustainability team to explain our approach to environmental stewardship and respond to questions about power, water, and land use Build a community engagement playbook and repeatable processes that scale as Anthropic's infrastructure footprint grows Minimum qualifications Experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, government relations, local or regional government, or a closely related field Direct experience working for or engaging with local governments and a broad set of community stakeholders on behalf of large infrastructure, construction, energy, or technology projects, with a working understanding of how local politics and community dynamics actually play out A skilled relationship and coalition builder who earns trust with a diverse group of stakeholders, and who maintains relationships through difficult conversations The ability to represent a company credibly in public settings — town halls, hearings, press interviews Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn a complex operational plan into plain language that a local official or reporter can understand and respond to The ability to work independently, get up to speed quickly on complex policy issues, and manage multiple concurrent engagements across different markets without losing track of any of them Based in Texas or willing to relocate there, and prepared to travel regularly across the region Preferred qualifications 7+ years of experience in community engagement specifically on data center, utility, energy, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects, or in local government Familiarity with land use, zoning, and permitting processes at the local and regional level Experience managing corporate social responsibility programs Established relationships with economic development, workforce, or civic organizations in the markets this role covers Experience working with real estate, legal, communications, and policy teams at the same time A genuine interest in the communities where you work, not just the projects you are managing The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $265,000 — $295,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. About the role The Corporate Network Engineering team owns Anthropic's corporate network: the wired, wireless, and edge infrastructure in our offices and research facilities around the world, and the standards, management systems, and telemetry that let a small team run them. We hold that network to the bar of a production service — designed for failure, managed as code, observable end-to-end, and secure by default — while delivering reliable connectivity to the people who depend on it every day. You'll set the technical direction together with your engineers and own the final decision on it and on the architecture standards, review and guide designs and the hard trade-offs, and lead vendor and platform decisions. You'll lead and grow a small team of network engineers: set priorities, drive decisions to closure, hire, and develop people. The team is small and the scope is broad, so this role needs real depth in campus and edge networking, judgment about what to standardize, automate, buy, and build, and the range to go from a wiring-closet decision to a budget defense in the same afternoon. You'll report to the head of IT Engineering and partner closely with our Buildouts, AV, and Endpoint teams; with Security Engineering on network security, authentication, and detections; with Physical Security, whose systems are critical for protecting Anthropic employees and depend on a reliable network; with Workplace, Real Estate, Procurement, and external logistics and integration partners on new site buildouts; and with our production networking teams, whose bar for reliability and automation is the one we hold ourselves to. Your work will directly shape how we scale to AI Safety Level 4 and beyond. Responsibilities Lead and grow the Corporate Network Engineering team — hiring, development, performance, planning, and prioritization Set technical direction with the team and own the final call on architecture standards across edge, campus switching, wireless, segmentation, out-of-band management, and telemetry; review designs and risky changes, and step in on the hard problems Own reliability and operations: monitoring people act on, incident response and post-incident reviews that produce changes, an on-call and escalation model a small team can sustain, change safety, and lifecycle currency Move the fleet toward network-as-code: templated configuration with change control, staged rollouts, drift detection, and automation that removes operational toil Partner with Security Engineering and Detection & Response on network authentication, segmentation, and the network as a detection source Deliver networks for new offices and research facilities and upgrade existing sites through live migrations — with Buildouts, AV, Physical Security, Workplace, Real Estate, and our logistics partners — while keeping interruptions to employees minimal Own vendor, carrier, and integrator relationships and the network hardware budget: evaluations, contracts, lead times, and multi-year refresh You may be a good fit if you Have 10+ years designing, building, and operating enterprise campus and edge networks, including at least one environment with dozens of sites across regions Have 5+ years leading engineers, including at least 3 years as a people manager Lead through technical judgment: whether or not you've been hands-on-keyboard lately, you can go from architecture to protocol behavior to failure modes with your engineers, and your reviews make their designs better Default to the secure design, then do the creative work to make it painless for the people using it — and can walk an executive or an engineer through the trade-off and make a recommendation Have run the operational side, not just designed it: out-of-band access, monitoring people act on, an on-call model a small team can sustain, and change safety Are pragmatic about what to build, buy, or automate, have run vendor evaluations with real money at stake, and chase problems across organizational boundaries to the actual root cause Communicate clearly with engineers, executives, contractors, and landlords, and can bring a room of senior engineers with strong opinions to a decision they'll commit to Want real technical ownership with a small team — including if you've led a larger organization before — and care about building infrastructure for an organization trying to get AI right Strong candidates may also Have led corporate networking at a company that added offices faster than it added network engineers Have implemented certificate-based network authentication (802.1X/EAP-TLS or equivalent) and identity- or device-based segmentation at scale Have shipped network configuration as code and built telemetry pipelines that security and support teams actually use Have designed dense wireless for large event spaces and high-occupancy floors Have been through multiple office builds with real estate and construction teams — including networks that physical security systems depend on — and know what to ask for before the walls close Have managed integrators, MSPs, or smart-hands providers as an extension of a small team while keeping design authority in-house Technical Skills We're looking for deep, hands-on experience in each of these — not surface familiarity: Enterprise edge: firewalls and routing (HA design, routing protocols, policy management across a fleet) Campus switching and high-density enterprise wireless (L2/L3 design, redundancy, RF design, 6 GHz, high-density venues) Segmentation and access control (certificate-based 802.1X, dynamic segmentation, guest and IoT isolation) Out-of-band management and secure, auditable administrative access Network automation and configuration as code (Python, templating, vendor APIs, source control, CI) Network observability (streaming telemetry, flow and log pipelines) Physical infrastructure for buildouts (MDF/IDF design, structured cabling, power and cooling, carrier and path diversity) Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
